Offimo - Mindful pause app for screen time control

Use Shopee less

A marketplace with coins, games and flash sales. The shopping is only part of why it gets opened.

Shopee is designed to be hard to put down. iOS Screen Time can cap it for free, but one tap on Ignore Limit lifts the cap. Offimo adds a pause before Shopee opens, every time.
  • Type: Shopping
  • What pulls you back: Deals with a countdown, You never know what is next, Streaks and the fear of missing out, Notifications that pull you back
  • On iOS alone: Screen Time, App Limits. Ignore Limit lifts it in one tap.
  • With Offimo: A short pause before Shopee opens, every time.

Why Shopee is hard to put down

Shopee has gamified opening the app. Daily check-ins pay coins, mini games pay coins, and the coins expire. The feed of deals refreshes constantly and the flash sales carry a countdown.

Every screen is designed so something is about to end: a sale, a voucher, a stock count. Urgency replaces the question of whether you needed anything at all.

  • Deals with a countdown

Timers, limited stock, prices that will not be there tomorrow. Urgency stops you from thinking, and thinking is what would have made you close the app.

  • You never know what is next

Sometimes the refresh brings something great, mostly it brings nothing. That unpredictability keeps the thumb moving, and slot machines use a similar schedule.

  • Streaks and the fear of missing out

Counters that reset, rewards that expire, things happening live. The app makes not opening it feel like losing something.

  • Notifications that pull you back

Badges and pings arrive at moments the app picks, not moments you picked. Each one is a small reason to open it, and there are dozens a day.

What Shopee costs in time

There is no honest per-app figure for Shopee that holds across countries, so we do not print one. What has been measured is the total: how long the average internet user spends online on a phone every day. Put your own Shopee time into the calculator and see what it adds up to over a year.

How to limit Shopee on iOS without any app

  1. Open Settings and tap Screen Time.
  2. Tap App Limits, then Add Limit.
  3. Find Shopee in the list (search works), select it and tap Next.
  4. Set the daily time you want, then tap Add.

Honest caveat: when the limit runs out, iOS offers an Ignore Limit button. One tap and you are back in Shopee. A Screen Time passcode that differs from your iPhone passcode makes that tap harder. How Offimo compares to Screen Time.

What to protect and what to leave reachable

If you want to buy something specific, go in after the pause. The openings only to check coins and deals are the ones the pause catches.

How Offimo pauses Shopee

Offimo puts a short pause between the tap and Shopee, every time you open it. You can still go in, but opening it stops being a reflex and becomes a decision.

On the simple pause, if you still want in, you go in. For the days you have already decided not to negotiate, Commitment Mode makes the block firmer for the period you choose, and Emergency Unlock opens everything for 30 minutes if something real comes up.

Frequently asked questions

Does Offimo block Shopee completely?

Not necessarily. In normal mode you can still get into Shopee. The difference is that there is a pause first, so opening it does not happen on reflex. For the moments a pause alone is not enough, there is blocking too.

Can I still open Shopee after the pause?

Yes. When the pause ends, you decide: go in on purpose, or put the phone down. Both count, because either way you chose.

Does it work with the Shopee website too?

Yes. Offimo treats the Shopee app and the Shopee website as the same destination, so the pause holds in Safari and other supported iPhone browsers as well.

Can I make the Shopee block firmer?

Yes. In Commitment Mode you pick the period and how firm the block is before you start. If something real comes up, Emergency Unlock opens everything for 30 minutes.

Will the pause stop me from catching a flash sale?

No. The pause lasts a few seconds and then lets you through. What it catches is the tenth opening of the day just to have a look.
