Offimo is an iPhone app. Setup takes a few minutes and you only do it once. Here is what to expect.
1. Download from the App Store
Search for Offimo in the App Store or use the download page. The download is free, and you can try the app before subscribing. The App Store shows the exact price before any charge.
Offimo is not available for Android yet. If that is your phone, the Android page is where to sign up for news.
2. Allow the Screen Time permission
The first time you open Offimo, iOS asks whether you allow it to use Screen Time. Offimo needs this permission to hold an app for a few seconds before it opens. Without it, nothing can be paused.
This is Apple's own permission, not a VPN or a configuration profile. You can read what Offimo can and cannot see in the permission article.
3. Choose the apps to pause
Next you pick the apps where the habit usually starts: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, or anything else you open without noticing. Nothing is paused unless you add it, and you can change the list at any time. Choosing your apps has a few suggestions.
4. Choose the pause length
You set how long the pause lasts. A few seconds is enough for most people: long enough for the impulse to pass, short enough not to feel like a wall.
5. Try it
Go to your home screen and tap one of the apps you just added. You should see the Offimo pause before the app opens. If you do not, this article lists what to check.
That is the whole setup. From here on, Offimo simply shows up at the moment you tap.
