Offimo - Mindful pause app for screen time control

Commitment Mode

For the days when a pause is not enough: choose a window, lock the decision in, and there is no quick tap around it until it ends.

The pause works because you can still go in. Some days you know in advance that this freedom is exactly the problem. Commitment Mode exists for those days.

What it does

You choose a window. While it is on, the barrier on your protected apps genuinely holds. There is no quick tap to get around it and no "just this once". The decision you made when you were calm is protected until the period is over.

When to use it

  • A deadline afternoon where one quick look would cost the whole afternoon.
  • Study sessions.
  • Evenings when you want to sleep instead of scrolling until 1 am.
  • Any stretch where you already know you would negotiate with yourself.

Keep normal mode for everyday use. Commitment Mode is the firmer tool, not the default.

How to turn it on

Open Offimo, choose Commitment Mode, set the window, and confirm. Your protected apps are the ones covered; Offimo does not add anything you did not choose.

How it ends

It ends when the window ends. Plan the window with that in mind: a shorter one you actually finish is worth more than a long one you resent.

If you want to understand the softer default first, read how the pause works.
